We had a lovely time on Mull with lots of sunshine. Our most memorable starts at the Carsaig Pier where seals were sunbathing on the rocks and passes the Nun's Cave, used by feral goats for shelter. We also liked the remoteness on the track to the Burg near Tiroran and the beauty of Iona, Lochbuie and Loch Ba with spectacular mountain views.

It's October, we must be in Mull and back at Kates.  Very wet underfoot and rained every day but not all day and mainly at night, so made the most of the better weather visiting Calgary, Uisken, Croggan, Lochbuie, Tiroran, Bunessan and Tobermory. Lip Na Cloiche is well worth a visit - a wonderful garden and many tropical plants. CafĂ© Fish still the best place to eat. Salen Hotel bar food is very good - excellent Cullen Skink. Dined on mussels from Inverlussa, Glengorm venison pie, local sausages, black pudding and cheeses, not to mention the local gin - Whitetail.

Loved the cottage and its location, the walk to Salen was great! Went running around the local area, very boggy with all the rain but we made the most of it. Visited Iona, Old Byre Heritage Centre, Tobermory and Aros Park to name a few.The Glass Barn at the Tobermory Cheese Farm was excellent for food, in a great location and setting. Enjoyed driving around this beautiful island - we will be back!

Great stay, as usual. Lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery. A bit 'damp'at times but weather ok for the time of year.Hope very much to be back again.

10th September 2017    Bob & Marion, Devon

Despite the weather Mull remains a wonderful location to visit. Once again we saw sea eagles on the road to Ulva Ferry (at the top of the road before you go down to the Ulva turning). There has also been a mature golden eagle above the road at Torloisk and over the loch (Tiath). Lochbuie is worth the long and tricky drive where Laggan Sands is, another magical place on the island. The west coast road both north and south is a must visit whatever the weather. Look out for the farm cat, in the twilight you could mistake her for a pine marten.

22nd July 2017    Kate & Paul, Kent

Yet again another great time spent on Mull, weather brilliant. Staffa Tours boat trip and Sea Life Surveys fantastic, also Discover Mull minibus with Arthur. Whitetail gin is a must buy from Tiroran Hotel coffee shop on the scenic route to Salen road! See you again.

24th June 2017    The Holland family

By watching the weather forecasts we managed to travel along most roads on Mull. Visit Iona, Staffa and Lunga, climb Ben More and Creach Beinn. We saw puffins, seals, eagles, otters, deer, cows, sheep, rabbits, peacocks, geese and several other birds. The Episcopal church in Gruline was welcoming on Sunday. Kate's cottage was a delight to stay in, in a central location. Thank you.

Despite a rather wet week we got out and about as much as possible to enjoy this lovely island. Very grateful to the caretaker for his quick repair to the central heating

Today, Thursday 9th, is the most lovely day....we went to Staffa and Lunga with Turus Mara. Lunga is brilliant, we loved the puffins. We saw some seals and dolphins as well and red deer on the hill behind the cottage. Hope to see Mull again. Thank you!

Had a lovely week on Mull visiting all the beautiful places on the island. We visited Iona, blue sky, blue sea, lots of wildlife. If you go for a walk behind the cottage you can see hen harriers, short eared owls, red deer and lots more. We saw lots of otters and sea eagles travelling across the island.

We have had a fabulous week visiting lots of beautiful places on the island. Kate's Cottage has been an ideal place to visit most of the areas we have been. Highlights....Staffa' Lunga, Iona, Calgary Bay, the stunning views around every corner! Lucky to see hen harrier, white tailed eagle, short eared owl and much more. Would love to visit again!

Had a lovely week on Mull and the cottage was a great base for activities. Seen otters, eagles and much more. We hope to return.

12th April 2017    Sandra & Peter, Clacton on Sea

We've both had another fab 2 weeks here. Been to Treshnish Isles to photograph puffins and razorbills. Took a boat from Ulva Ferry to see sea eagles, pictures are to die for. We also saw sea otters. It has been a great privilege to see and photograph all the wildlife here. Shame Knock Bridge was closed, it meant close to a 2 hours trip from Knock Farm at the end of Loch  instead of a 10 minute ride straight into Salen. We will be back
