The island of Gigha is the southern most of the Hebrides and sits off the coast of Argyll in beautifully clear waters. Only 2.5 hours from Glasgow and then a 20 minute ferry journey from the mainland, Gigha is one of the more accessible islands and yet offers a true ‘get away from it all’ experience and a haven of tranquillity. Gigha is community owned, following a buyout in 2002. The island boasts beautiful bays and beaches, crystal clear waters as well as spectacular Achamore Gardens, a nine-hole golf course. Indulge in locally caught fish or make island hopping a part of your trip and visit Scotland’s whisky producing islands including nearby Islay and Jura.

“The cottage was very tastefully decorated and designed and well appointed with all that you could possibly need . Although not on the beach we had views from the window and the lovely wee bay / beach was a very short walk away . The cosy dressing gowns were a lovely touch .”

Beach View Cottage is located on the Isle of Gigha, off the west coast of Kintyre, Scotland. A 'beachy' 'chic' cottage, this is a bright, open plan cottage beside secluded beaches, and also within walking distance from all local amenities. Enjoy watching the yachts sail by from the lounge. Enjoy the cottage's sea views, open fire, close beach and its secure, sun trap garden, but beware a cow might pop over to say 'moo'!
Johnny's Shore beach is an 900 yards walk from the property, and guests can enjoy whale, bird and seal watching on the island. |
