We recently spent a week in Blacksmith's cottage . We were 2 couples and found the layout of the rooms and en suites ideal for privacy for us. The cottage is very comfortable and the log burner lovely on a cold and windy night. The central heating control was a bit of a mystery to us and it was random whether we were able to advance it or not. There was a whirly washing line in the garden but none of us could find the hole in the ground to enable us to use it. It would have been great to get the washing out in the wild wind. We had neighbours in the attached cottage but were only able to hear them on the stairs. The gardens are both separate so if it had it been gd weather we would have been able to sit out in peace. There was adequate parking for 2 cars. The cottage location is gd for access to restaurants, the coop and shops. It was a shame the closeby Hebridean reetaurant and shops were closed. The beds were very comfortable with a mattress topper on the king size. Shower pressures were good. Perhaps more attention could be made to the cleanliness of the shower trays and in general in the cottage in hidden areas. All in all it was a lovely week..shame the weather let us down but Mull has a magic in the bad days too.

Lovely location with views over the Sound of Mull looking north, this was an unexpected experience to see the Northern lights from an upstairs window! The property is modern clean and warm. There is pleanty of space to park and Tobermory is only a 10 minute walk down the hill. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to prospective travellers to this area. If wildlife or walking is your thing then this place is ideally placed for you to see so many of the key species of the island within a short drive.

Every bit as good as it looks and a great location for exploring the island. The cottage had everything we needed for a blissfully comfortable stay and is beautifully decorated and furnished. The views and peaceful location gave it a remote feel whilst still being a short walk from the harbour. We lucked out when we booked this cottage and can’t recommend it, or Alison as a host, highly enough.
