Generally speaking the week went really well and the house was wonderful. Even when it rained the house, the fires and a whole heap of books kept us (and the kids) busy. We were really impressed how well kitted out the kitchen and the house was. It was nice to feel like it was a lived-in house with little touches of art and ornaments. It was also really helpful to have the space at the back of the kitchen - as I had tents to dry out and muddy clothes to wash. The garden is also perfect. It has the various benches and spots to take in the views. We weren’t worried about the boys or the dogs playing. All in all we loved our stay in Mull. Aros was the perfect base for us to explore (Tobermory, Calgary, Duart, Iona and wild camping on Erriad). We really loved the stay in your house and hope to maybe return in a year or so.

Our stay in Glenaros Lodge was amazing. Such a beautiful location with stunning views from all the windows. The house is big and had plenty of room for us to relax in including gardens with benches to soak up the view. It’s in a very good central location to explore the whole of Isle of Mull. Things to note are a pretty steep and bumpy driveway to the house (don’t bring your Ferrari!) and there’s an Aga in the kitchen which works well, with clear instructions on how to use it. We only used the two hot plates as the oven takes so long to get up to heat. Overall, would definitely recommend and we’d happily stay again.

We were so lucky to be the first AirBnB guests at this outstanding house which feels like a much loved family home with years of happy history behind it rather than a holiday let. The furniture is antique, graceful and comfortable with cosy carpets, wonderful art on the walls and the view across the Sound of Mull and the Lord of the Isles's Aros Castle ruins is to die for. Originally a church, it became a country house sometime in the 19th century and has wonderful semi-wild and extensive gardens with a brook, a pond and special places to sit and admire the view. This probably isn't for you if you want ultra modern stark glamour but if you are drawn to comfort , uniqueness and old world charm, don't hesitate.
