The oldest part of the cottage was built as a ‘But and Ben’ around 1800 and is one of the oldest properties in the village.  An extension added in 1980 added a kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms.  ‘Number 10’ has recently been renovated and now offers that home from home feeling.  The cottage is well equipped and regardless of the weather (this is the west coast of Scotland after all) you will find the cottage warm and welcoming all year round.   The back of the property opens into an enclosed walled garden, giving privacy and unrestricted views of the Firth of Lorn across to Mull.  
The short, regular ferry crossing allows you the island holiday experience with access to all that the local area offers with many local towns within a reasonable distance for day trips.
There is one local shop and Post Office on the island which is well stocked, but we would always recommend coming prepared with provisions.  The local
HYPERLINK "http://www.atlanticislandscentre.com" Atlantic Island Centre, which is a stone’s throw from the front door, offers a changing local history exhibition, art displays and licensed café offering lunches, teas and coffees and evening meals at the weekend.

Delighted to be the first person to stay at this newly refurbished holiday home. Situated in the beautiful slate village of Cullipool on the island of Luing, this is a great rental for anyone who fancies getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Only a 30 min drive from Oban to the ferry at Cuan, and a 15 min drive through stunning scenery, Luing allows you to find peace and tranquility but still have access to shops and activities around the Oban and Lorn area. The 2 bedroom cottage is beautifully decorated and is well stocked with everything you might need to make your holiday extremely comfortable. The original 'But & Ben' part of the cottage is a really cosy lounge/dining area with big sliding doors that look out over the beautiful back garden to the sea and views of the Isle of Mull. With Sky TV, broadband, DVD player, and a good range of books and games you will never be bored should the Scottish weather keep you inside! There is a wood burning stove at a small extra charge for those that like a fire but central heating is more than adequate. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need and the shower room is modern - love the heated mirror! The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and beds very comfortable. Outside there is a lovely decking area with comfortable garden furniture with padded cushions so that you can enjoy the stunning views. We were lucky and had some lovely weather, so enjoyed being able to eat our lunch outside! If you don't fancy cooking the cottage is only a short walk away from The Atlantic Island Centre, which has a lovely tearoom!
