Great location in the centre of the island. The Sea Life wildlife boat trip from Tobermory was excellent. We spent a lot of time wildlife spottong around Loch na Keal which was very close by and it was good to be able to get there in the evenings. Two great coffee places in Salen and the Spar shop well stocked as usual.

Lovely place to stay, well equipped and very peaceful. Helpful, friendly owners. Only downside was the lack of view – but you didn’t need to go very far to get one! We walked every day and mostly didn’t have to drive very far. A trip to Ulva was excellent, though to get the best ides you need to be able to walk a reasonable distance. Treshnish was also good. Don’t expect to get anywhere in a hurry and take stops to look at the wildlife. Only ate out once, at the centre at Calgary..good food and shop.
