Situated on the south side of the picturesque, community owned, Isle of Ulva, Cragaig Bothy is now available for visitors to the island. This unique property offers basic accommodation, with no electricity or services but does have superb view out over the sea to Iona, Staffa and the Treshnish Islands. The island is renowned for its stunning scenery and wildlife – it is home to sea eagles, golden eagles, hen harriers, otters, seals and much, much more.
There is no road to the bothy, so access is by foot after a two hour walk from the Ulva Ferry. It can also be reached by sea via kayak or boat. The water in the bothy is not suitable for drinking, however there is a gas cooker and woodburning stove that can be used to heat water. In addition, there are no shops on the island so all supplies must be brought over from Mull and carried in.

Location: Located on the shore – stunning seaviews – the walk in is over very rough tracks and requires sturdy footwear.

Garden: No formal garden – no parking as not accessible by car

Heating:  Log burner – one box of 8 heat logs supplied per day of stay – kindling, firelighters and matches provided – log burner used to heat water

Kitchen:  Certified gas cooker – good selection of dinner plates and cutlery – tea towels, washing up liquid, soap and cleaning materials provided – all other provisions need to be brought in

Lounge:   Seating for 5 – Limited/no wifi and phone reception dependent on your network

Bedrooms: 1 x bedroom downstairs with 5 singles (bunks)

Bathrooms: 1 x shower room in attached building but with separate access

Access to Ulva is via small passenger ferry from Mull.
The ferry operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm April to October, and also Sundays in June, July and August. *PLEASE NOTE NO FERRYS RUN ON SATURDAYS* The cost of this ferry is £8 return for adults, and £4 return for children.

Visitors are asked to respect bothy tradition and leave Cragaig as they find it – including leaving the fire set for the next visitors. All items, including rubbish must be taken on departure.
